Hoult is best-known for his supporting roles but he has turned to starring roles—mostly in independent films—including three of his 2017 roles; the romantic drama Newness and the biographical films Rebel in the Rye and The Current War, in which he played J. Hoult was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, to piano teacher Glenis (née Brown) and British Airways pilot Roger Hoult.
The director was impressed by the three-year-old Hoult's ability to "concentrate well" and offered him a role in his next theatre production, The Caucasian Chalk Circle. They split for good in August 2014, thanks to their "difficult schedules," according to one source.
His older siblings were interested in acting and dancing from an early age, taking classes and attending auditions.
